1. Personal Safety Monitoring in Hazardous Environments

   • These lightweight, simple monitors are ideal for workers in confined spaces, maintenance teams, or where one specific hazard gas dominates. For instance, the “Reusable Gas Detector” single‐gas model is noted as suitable for “oil and gas, chemical facilities … water and waste treatment, steel works” etc. 

   • The portability, ruggedness, audible/visible alarms, and certifications make them fit for many industrial or utility tasks.

2. Multi-Gas Portable Monitoring for Complex Hazards

   • Example use: The page on XGARD fixed detectors mentions many installation environments (water treatment, oil & gas, power, manufacturing) and the need for rugged construction and explosion-proof housings. 

4. Specialised Applications – Refrigerants, HVAC/R, Air Quality

   • Application example: The “Refrigerants” solution shows that Crowcon caters to refrigeration leak detection (toxicity, environmental regulations), industrial refrigeration plants, warehouses, food storage.

   • Another example: The product guide mentions air quality monitoring (multi-pollutant, remote measurement) for buildings, environment. 

5. Temporary/Removable Monitoring During Construction, Turnaround, Maintenance

   • Example: The “DETECTIVE+ Transportable Area Monitoring” is described for temporary worksites: turnaround/shutdown, hot work, confined space entry in oil & gas, utilities, construction. 

   • This shows that Crowcon also serves short-term application scenarios where portable or area monitors are needed temporarily.

Points to Highlight for Application Use

• Environment & hazard type drive detector choice: Are we dealing with a single hazard gas or multiple (toxic + flammable + O₂)? Are we in a confined space or open area? Are conditions rugged/harsh?

• Installation vs portable: Permanent fixed systems vs personal/portable devices each have distinct roles. Crowcon covers both.

• Regulatory compliance & hazardous area certification: Fixed detectors often carry ATEX/IECEx approvals and rugged enclosures for industrial zones.
